Radhika Vekaria

Bio

Radhika Vekaria is no stranger to capturing purpose & a higher calling within her music - her namesake "Radha" is the Vedic goddess of love and devotion; two concepts that are synonymous with Vekaria's pursuit of the arts. A classically trained musician who has performed in an impressive number of situations; from the lead in multi-faceted stage production INDIA INDIA to a member of bands fronted by luminaries like Prince and Eddie Palmieri, Vekaria's latest album SAPTA, The Seven Ways is an homage to her journey as an artist as much as it is an offering of healing through art.

Falling stylistically somewhere between world music, textural soundscape and a collection of mantras, the album SAPTA (the Sanskrit word for "Seven") is a powerful ode to Vekaria's Indian roots and the Sanskrit mantras which have guided thousands of years of healing for devotees of yoga and meditative arts. Los Angeles based producer George Landress (No Doubt, Dionne Warwick) preserves the sonic authenticity of traditional Indian instruments (harmonium, tanpura, etc) while taking a modern approach to synth & electronic production; stellar performances from Vekaria, Shashank Acharya (flute) and Manas Kumar (violin) create an experience for the listener that is as immersive and unifying as it is deeply musical.

Accompanything SAPTA are visuals created in collaboration with visual editor Ralph Jean-Pierre (Servant - M. Night Shyamalan) helping the listener transcend the modern world and journey to the self.

Combining her passions for the planet, humanity and the natural balance inherent between, Radhika's world music project (2022 release) highlights her ancestral journey through India, East Africa and the West.  Upon an electro-cinematic soundscape created with Norwegian Grammy-winning producer, Jarl Aanestad, is a personal and deep narrative telling of a human awakening through the elements of nature itself.   Be it through performance art, speaking or healing, Radhika is committed to the celebration and integration of harmony in all aspects of life while drawing upon the wisdom of time ancient spiritual practises.
